Bob Byrd
April 16, 1950-December 6, 2018
…I don’t think that I chose photography as much as it chose me. I was bitten by it and couldn’t resist. So I kept a camera with me all the time.
At Hudson’s Bay High School for more than a decade, “Mr. Byrd” taught what he lived. He always set the stage for his students to succeed in art and life. A former student wrote about Mr. Byrd’s generosity:
High school was a tough time for me and I don’t think I would have gotten through without him. His heart was so big, and he was always willing to work with me after school on photo projects because I was curious and he was so eager to teach. We kept in touch while I was in undergrad and he was always so kind to send me links to scholarships. He taught me so much during the two years I was at Hudson’s Bay.
The Bob Byrd Memorial Fund will support new opportunities for students to express their creativity through photography.
