School communities are strengthened by family and community engagement activities

2021-22 impact at a glance…

• Children and caregivers read together at home, thanks to 1176 books provided in 11 languages during Read Across America.
• VPS Family-Community Resource coordinators hosted 44 family engagement events reaching 7,791 kids and 11,924 adults.
• Provided food, materials, and supplies to encourage participation in family leadership and parent advisory groups.
• Supported VPS’s Teen Parent Program which provides services ranging from child care and transportation to tutoring and parenting classes, plus opportunities to connect with other teen parents.
