Funds support VPS initiatives focused on attendance, student engagement, and truancy to help students avoid expulsion and stay on track to graduate. Funding also supports VPS staff focused on health and wellness of students.

Examples of past impact:

8237 students participated in mental health strategies.
Supported two new VPS initiatives focused on attendance, student engagement, and truancy to help students avoid expulsion and stay on track to graduate.
Provided support for new VPS staff positions of Student Advocates and Mental Health and Wellness Coordinators.
Provided support for VPS school mobilization and crisis response teams.
Supported training for family-community resource staff to deepen cultural awareness and fine tune delivery of services.

Vision & Hearing

Hundreds of our children have trouble learning due to hearing and vision problems. What if you couldn’t see the board or read a book or hear your teacher? Thanks to our donors, the Foundation is able to offer vision and audiology services such as eye exams, frames & lenses, hearing tests and hearing aids for students in need.
