Family & Community Engagement

Funds help strengthen school communities by supporting engagement activities that connect families to resources and opportunities to support student success. When families are engaged in their child’s education and feel a connection to the school and it’s staff, students attend school more regularly, get better grades, have higher graduation rates, and are more likely to enroll in postsecondary education.

Examples of impact during the 2024-2025 School Year:

• VPS Family-Community Resource Coordinators hosted 137 family engagement events at their schools
• The Welcome Center served over 1100 guests, assisting with enrollment and connections to resources
